Our government shouldn’t be Elon Musk’s next corporate acquisition.
We support a more efficient and modern government
Our government should serve the American people, which means that making the bureaucracy more efficient is worthwhile.
But Elon Musk is destroying the government even when it’s effective, while Democrats are digging in, defending the government when it isn’t.
Musk is wrong for the job
Unelected and rich beyond all, Musk is unqualified to overhaul our bureaucracy. His ignorance on how the government functions is compounded by his arrogant disregard for the harm he inflicts. His efforts are stymied by legal challenges that force him to roll back actions that are unconstitutional. Small investors want the power to use the levers of the marketplace to apply additional pressure.
“I hope we shall crush in its birth the aristocracy of our monied corporations which dare already to challenge our government to a trial of strength, and bid defiance to the laws of our country.“
— President Thomas Jefferson,
letter to George Logan (1816)
